Golden Technologies History

The history of Golden Technologies dates back to 1996 when Greg Scasny and Steve Massa met and became friends through their employment at Bethlehem Steel. Greg was approached to create a website that would aid in the distribution of financial newsletters. Because the project required more technical expertise than he could offer, he asked Steve if he would be willing to help.

After going through all the specifics, Greg and Steve started writing a proposal. Several long nights and cases of beer later, the proposal was completed and delivered with the expectation that it would be denied. A few days later they found out that it was accepted.

Upon the approval of the contract, they needed to quickly start and name a company, as the IRS was on the phone. They saw Eddie, Steve's Golden Retriever, lying on the floor next to the computer; and, while Greg had a Rottweiler, Rotten Technologies did not have the same successful ring to it. Hence, Golden Technologies was born. They gave the name to the IRS and hit the ground running.

With the first project completed, Golden Technologies took on a few new clients here and there. While at work, Steve met two promising engineers, Scott Dujmovich and Steve Tomory, and asked them to join in the adventure. With their additional knowledge, they were able to accept larger and more complex projects. In late 1999, the foursome decided that it was time to leave the mill and work full-time for Golden Technologies, beginning their journey as entrepreneurs.

Since that time, the business has steadily grown over the years. Starting out with just the "Core 4," Golden Technologies now employs more than 50 individuals and has three offices covering the greater Michiana, Northwest Indiana, and South West Florida regions. With plans for further expansion, the partners continue to explore opportunities in other strategic markets. The key to Golden Technologies' success, however, remains in its ability to provide exceptional customer service, the highest level of expertise, and cutting-edge products and services through customized technical solutions.
