Systems Administration / IT Technician
The System Administrator/Technician position is responsible for the analysis, design, and implementation of a variety of network projects internal and external to the organization. Typical projects for this consultant will include Microsoft Windows 2003/2008, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange Server 2003/2008 deployments, as well as Linux solutions. A successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate excellent project management and communication skills in addition to an impressive technical background. As this position is for Windows and Linux, additional responsibilities include escalation support for desktop and break fix.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing, corporate servers and installed software
- Document system installations, configurations, policies and procedures
- Design, implement, and maintain a consistent backup and disaster recovery plan.
- Participates as a team member on strategic consulting engagements across all platforms (Windows, Macintosh, and *nix)
- Assists in quality assurance reviews on deliverables and reports, reviews and contributes to conclusions, and presents for the benefit of the client.
- Contributes to the growth and development of Golden Technologies solutions and integration of the solutions into client organizations
- Assures that intellectual capital is transferred for reuse
- Provides support on sales pursuit activities in areas such as proposal development, sales calls and, where appropriate, presentation to clients.
- Assists Sales in developing account plans to identify new opportunities.
- Attends regularly scheduled internal strategy meetings.
- Ensures all time tracking and engagement management systems are updated on a regular basis.
Preferred Requirements
- College Degree
- Microsoft Certifications
- Three or more years of experience in maintaining and supporting a Microsoft environment
- Minimum of 5 years computer hardware experience with strong background in desktop support and break fix procedures
- Strong Windows networking experience is a must as well as strong Linux experience is preferred.
- Strong Windows backup and restore experience.
- Strong record of completed projects across various computing platforms
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
- Ability to meet stated customer initiated deadlines
- Demonstrated understanding of software development life cycle
- Functional knowledge of network topologies, network security, mail server setup and maintenance, Windows and Linux Scripting, Exchange Server, SQL Server, MYSQL, IIS, Apache, DNS, Windows and Linux operating systems.
- VOIP, Linux, Citrix knowledge
